Siddha Central Research Institute (SCRI)
        This institute was established in the year 1971 at Arumbakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu and it is functioning under the Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS), Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India. This Institute has got the necessary facilities for clinical research, literary research, fundamental research, drug research and medicinal plant research. In the department of literary research, palm leaf manuscripts and rare Siddha book collection, preservation, annotation, cataloguing, transcription and publications are being periodically carried out.

The Department of Clinical Research (DCR) carries out the clinical trials with 50 bedded hospital facilities following the guidelines issued by the Govt. of India time to time. Department of Biochemistry and Pathology laboratories also support the clinical research. This institute has been identified as a Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre (PPvC) and it functions effectively for the betterment of the society and the system.

The Department of Pharmacognosy helps in identification of herbal drug, Siddha Botanical Standardization and Siddha Pharmacopoeia works are being carried out. Standardization of clinical trial drugs, single drugs and Siddha compound formulations are carried out in the Department of Chemistry. Department of Pharmacology carries out the biological evaluation, safety and toxicity studies.
