அந்தர விருத்தி

- a. அந்தரம் + விருத்தி = குடல் பருத்தல்.
b. Enlargement of distension of the bowels.
a. குடல் தன்னிடத்தை விட்டு நழுகி அண்டத்திற்குள் இறங்காமல் ஆண் குறிக்கு மேற் பருத்துக் காணல்.
b. The displacement of bowels with protrusion or swelling appearance above the penis when they have not passed quite through the inguinal canal – Imperfect hernia.
a. அந்தரம் = உள் + விருத்தி = பருமன் - உடம்பின் உட்புறத்திலிருந்து பருமனாதல்.
b. Swelling remaining internally.

b. Enlargement of the waist and buttocks.
a. குடலண்ட விருத்தி, இந்நோய் வாயுவானது பல காரணங்களினாற் பிரகோபமடைவதனால் ஏற்படுவதாகக் கருதப்படும். இதில் சிறுகுடல் துடையிடுக்கின் உட்புறமாய் விதைக்குள்ளிறங்கிப் பிடுக்கைப் பந்தை போல் பருக்கச் செய்வதுடன், அதை அமுக்கக் களகளவென்ற சத்தத்துடன் மேலெழும்பும், விட்டு விடப் பழயபடி பருத்துக் காணும். இந்நோய் சாதாரணமாக அதிக பாரத்தைத் தூக்குவதாலும், மிகுதியாக முக்குவதாலும் குதித்தல், விழுதல், பாரமிழுத்தல் முதலிய உழைப்புகளினாலும், குடல் தாக்கப்பட்டு அது சவுட்டியின் கீழ் இறங்கும்.
b. A rupture caused by the muscles over the bowels, giving way and letting some portion of the intestines escape outwards beneath the skin. It arises from the aggravated condition of Vayu in the iliac region. The intestines eventually make their way through the opening in the groin and descend into the scrotum which becomes swollen like and inflated air – bladder. They ascend upwards under pressure making a peculiar gurgling sound and when let go they come down again and swell the scrotum as before - Inguinal hernia. It is caused generally by lifting a heavy load, violent physical strain, jumping, falling, dragging or pulling heavy weights and such like physical labour causing pressure to the bowels which eventually descend through the groin.
